A Thousand Small Gestures

Our brand is a living entity.

And like all living things, our brand is the result of years of growth, experience, lessons learned, mistakes made—and a thousand small gestures. Those gestures can strengthen our brand, or undermine it. They include how we speak about WVU, how we photograph it, how we behave toward those inside and outside the university, and, of course, how we represent ourselves in color, symbol, and type.

The WVU Brand Center focuses primarily on our visual brand, but also provides an overview of other key elements of our brand: our identity, our purpose, and our future. Our goal is not only to provide you with tools to express our visual brand, but to offer some insights into why a consistent brand is important. Just like our brand, this site lives in the real world—and will evolve along with us.
